Congestion Charge to treble for 'gas guzzlers'

London Mayor Ken Livingstone has announced plans to increase the Congestion Charge for the most polluting vehicles from 2009. Cars in road tax Band G (with carbon emissions >225 gCO2/km) will pay ?25 per day, while cars in Bands A and B (Bands C, D and E will be unaffected and continue to pay the standard Charge (currently ?8/day).
